Songwriters Fight Back

ASCAP recently filed a petition against Pandora accusing its creator of taking advantage of songwriters by attempting to pay them less than the fair market rate. Songwriters are urging Pandora to join them in a collective effort to build a fair music industry together. Already more than 7000 people signed the petition and addressed messages to Pandora’s leadership such as: “When companies like Pandora pay eight cents for one thousand plays, they are making a bold statement about how much the music they financially rely on is worth to them. It is an immense insult that they want to pay even less”.
