European Parliament Accepts Latest Agreement for Unified European Patent System

Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) sitting in an extraordinary meeting backed the latest agreement between member state representatives in relation to the Unified European Patent System.  Concerns with regards to the location of the specialized European Patent Court as well as the role of the ECJ in patent cases in the future were addressed, and draft legislation may be before the Member States as early as December 10, 2012.

Tiffany Mahmood

Tiffany Mahmood is a second year student at Fordham University School of Law and the incoming Editor-in-Chief for Volume 24 of the IPLJ. Originally from London, England, Tiffany studied to become a wig-wearing British Barrister before moving to the United States. She is a Senior Conference Fellow at the Fordham IP Institute, assisting in organizing the annual Fordham Intellectual Property Conference, and plans to pursue a career in Patent law in the U.S.
